About us
Children around the world want someone to believe and invest in their potential. The children of Honduras are no different. The backpacks of opportunity project believes in this. We invest in that potential by supplying children in Honduras with backpacks and school supplies annually. Together we can make a lasting impression in the country of Honduras. It can be done one child at a time. All they need is the opportunity!

Leadership team
Director of Operations
Jacob Shoun lived in Honduras for nine years. He worked as a youth minister for three years and married his wife, Rashell. They then began doing mission work over the next 6 years. Because of the time he spent in Honduras, Jacob is very knowledgeable about the area and culture. He uses this when working with the locals to coordinate our backpack donations for the children of Honduras.
Lead Ambassador
Will Young, heard about Honduras when a mission group from his home congregation gave a report of their trip. At that moment he knew that Honduras was the mission field he wanted to pursue. Finally, in 2013, he was able to take his first trip to Honduras. A few years later, Will met Jake during a trip through their respective congregations and was invited to take part in the special work of the Backpacks of opportunity project. He's been a part of our work since then. Will and his wife, Rachel, live in Franklin, TN.
